As parts of north and north-central Alabama started Wednesday with some snow on the ground, several Alabama school districts announced delays and closings. Temperatures Wednesday night will plunge into the low teens overnight in north Alabama. Central Alabama will have lows between 20 degrees and 25 degrees.

Schools across Alabama have started announcing closures for Wednesday because of the threat of winter weather.

With snow forecast for much of North Alabama early Wednesday morning and into the day, some schools are changing their schedules based on impacts on roads.
