Recovery efforts now surge through Lake City, Arkansas after Wednesday's devastating EF-3 tornado ravaged the community.

A confirmed EF-3 tornado wreaked havoc in Lake City, Craighead County, causing significant damage as it tore through northeast Arkansas.

Northeastern Arkansas saw a tornado emergency issued as a large twister hit Lake City. The tornado was a part of a storm sweeping from Texas to Ohio.

At least four tornadoes touched down in Arkansas on Wednesday, according to various National Weather Service offices.

The Westside Consolidated School District in Bono sustained damage, according to a school official, and classes have been canceled for Thursday. Cash Fire Chief Morris Watkins told K8 News that two tornadoes went through about a mile apart. One of the tornadoes damaged Simplot and took out a farm shop.
