When Macy's on Friday released its full list of stores that are slated for closure this year, one notable location that was not included was the retail chain's flagship San Francisco store in Union Square.

Roughly 150 Macy's stores will close over the next three years, with these first 66 closures affecting dozens of states in 2025.

The closures are part of Macy's "Bold New Chapter" strategy, which was announced in February 2024. The reorganization, the company revealed at the time, involved closing 150 stores nationwide within three years and a pivot to a greater focus on luxury sales.
