Rep. Jerry Nadler, the long-serving dean of the New York congressional delegation and the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, is getting a primary challenger for next year — and it’s not from the Democratic Socialists of America.

The 26-year-old Liam Elkind announced his candidacy against Jerry Nadler for Congressional District 12 on a video posted on X, in which he talked about how current Democratic leadership is failing

Elkind blends a message of generational change with a background in grassroots organizing. During the coronavirus pandemic, he co-founded Invisible Hands, a nonprofit that mobilized over 15,000 volunteers to deliver food and essentials to struggling New Yorkers.
