Feb 9 (Reuters) - Nike-owned Converse brand's employees were instructed to work from home this week as the sportswear giant makes strategic changes to recapture sales growth, Bloomberg News reported on Monday,

The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is probing Nike in response to unspecified allegations that the company discriminates against White employees, the agency said Wednesday.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Nike may have engaged in "a pattern or practice of disparate treatment against White employees."

It appeared to be the first time the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has targeted diversity policies at a large company.

Employees of Nike’s ailing Converse brand have been told to work from home this week ahead of a round of layoffs, according to a Bloomberg report. The struggling brand also is expected to be restructured,
