The Philadelphia Phillies have placed right-hander Zack Wheeler on the 15-day injured list with a blood clot near his right arm, the team announced Saturday.

Aaron Nola will make his long-awaited return to the rotation on as the Phillies vie for a split of their four-game series against the host Washington Nationals.

"There's not a lot that we can say on it at this time," said Dombrowski, who commended doctors for finding the clot.
