A woman was left “flipping out” after learning of her big Powerball win, North Carolina officials said. Deborah Gates bought the lucky $3 ticket at a MAPCO service station in Waynesville, McClatchy News reported. She had no idea she’d land a $100,000 prize, according to an Oct. 9 news release by the North Carolina Lottery.

With the help of a Powerball jackpot that reached nearly $1.8 billion during the first week of September, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery's total revenue increased in September from $45.6 million in the same month in 2024 to $54.

The search is on for the two lucky Australians who have taken home the jackpot of $50m in Thursday night’s Powerball.
