The Sacramento Kings have finalized the deal to hire general manager Scott Perry in hopes that he can get the team back to the playoffs after losing in the play-in tournament the past two years.

Scott Perry stands in the Sacramento Kings’ training facility in 2017, when he was vice president of basketball operations. Perry has reportedly been hired as the Kings next general manager after the team parted ways Thursday with Monte McNair. Hector Amezcua Sacramento Bee file

Before hiring Perry, team sources say the Kings also inquired about former Denver Nuggets general manager Calvin Booth and Joe Dumars, the former Kings adviser and Hall of Famer who joined the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday as their president of basketball operations.
