A consortium of private investors, along with C&S Wholesale Grocers, has acquired Southeastern Grocers and its Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket banners.

The new owners of Winn-Dixie include a New Hampshire-based wholesale grocery company. Winn-Dixie and Aldi each now have eight stores in Brevard.

The Great Aldi Conversion has slowed down a bit. The discount grocery chain is selling the Winn-Dixie, Harveys stores it bought less than a year ago.

A group of investors led by the CEO of Jacksonville-based Southeastern Grocers has bought nearly 170 Winn-Dixie and Harveys stores from Aldi.

The German discounter will sell the grocery company, its banners and 170 stores to a consortium of investors led by C&S Wholesale Grocers and the head of Southeastern Grocers.

Supermarket chain Aldi US plans to open more than 225 new stores in the US in 2025 in the largest single-year expansion in the company's history in the country. The planned expansion is part of a five-year national growth strategy and aims to capitalise on the demand for affordable groceries.
