A 2.4-magnitude earthquake was detected near Paramus, New Jersey on Friday afternoon. The earthquake happened just after 1 p.m., according to the United States Geological Survey. As of 4 p.m., nearly 600 people reported feeling some weak shaking to the USGS with some as far north as Poughkeepsie and even into some parts of Long Island.
