The initial belief that inspired the Golden State Warriors to make Jonathan Kuminga the No. 7 pick of the 2021 NBA draft has surely been shaken across his four uneven seasons together.

A local TV reporter in Sacramento, Matt George, reported that the Kings were closing in on a sign-and-trade for Kuminga that would involve Devin Carter, Dario Saric and draft pick compensation. But then Warriors beat writer Anthony Slater of The Athletic reported that no deal was imminent between the Warriors and any team.

The Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls were named as the two most likely Kuminga landing spots, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic. NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer reported that Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans are also in the Kuminga derby while confirming the Bulls and Heat’s interest.
