WWE CCO Paul "Triple H" Levesque confirms that Pat McAfee will be back under a WWE roof at the upcoming Wrestlepalooza premium live event.
STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — WWE's partnership with ESPN will start earlier than first announced. The WWE's first premium live event on the network's platforms will be Wrestlepalooza from Indianapolis on Sept. 20. John Cena, who will retire from professional wrestling at the end of the year, will be part of the card.
Earlier this month, it was announced that WWE and ESPN reached an agreement for the broadcaster to become the exclusive home of premium live events starting in 2026. The deal reportedly was for a whopping total of $1.625 billion over five years, with an annual value of $325 million.
WWE has been doing a lot of press since Wednesday’s big announcement that their deal with ESPN starts in September with the Wrestlepalooza PLE on September 20. WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque was a guest on the latest edition of ESPN’s SportsCenter, and he made a big announcement concerning WWE RAW Commentator Pat McAfee.
