Ace Frehley on plans for his unfinished final album — plus memories of Hendrix, Zeppelin, Kiss... and the hardest song to play
After answering a Village Voice ad placed by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, Frehley went on to serve two tenures with the band — from its formation in 1973 to 1982, and then from 1996 to 2002. During that time, he appeared on 11 of the group’s studio albums and three of its live releases, and guested on four tracks from 1996’s Kiss Unplugged.
McCready added: "Ace jammed on Black Diamond with Pearl Jam at Madison Square Garden… a dream come true for me. “I would not have picked up a guitar without Ace and Kiss’s influence. “RIP it out Ace, you changed my life. Thank you.”
Ace Frehley is on life support, per TMZ. Frehley, the original lead guitarist with Rock & Roll Of Fame Band icons Kiss, suffered a brain bleed following a fall in his home studio recently.
