The Senate is expected to vote for a 10th time late Thursday morning on a House-passed bill to reopen the government as Democrats and Republicans remain dug in on Day 16 of the shutdown.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-Louisiana, warned that the government shutdown could become the longest ever as it entered its fifteenth day on Oct. 15.
