Red Bull driver Max Verstappen captured pole position at the Italian Grand Prix, a surprising feat against the dominant McLaren cars.

Formula One title rivals and McLaren teammates Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris spoke on Thursday of the "consequences" and "repercussions" resulting from a Singapore Grand Prix clash, without saying what they might be.

Norris made a swift start to the Singapore race and drew level with Piastri through the opening corners. After encountering Max Verstappen at the apex of Turn 3, Norris tried to avoid light contact with the Red Bull and then ended up making brief contact with Piastri - who was notably dismayed by the move over team radio.
