An Arizona Department of Public Safety Ranger Helicopter went down Wednesday night while it was responding to an active shooter incident, killing both people on board.

Ranger 56 had undergone an inspection just days before the helicopter's crash Wednesday night in Flagstaff, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Robert Skankey and Hunter Bennett died when their Ranger 56 helicopter crashed on Feb. 4 west of downtown Flagstaff, just north of Route 66.
