After Hamas handed over two dead Israeli hostages overnight, Israel returns 30 dead Palestinians - a ratio agreed in the first phase of the peace deal.

There are now believed to be four deceased hostages still inside Gaza following Sunday's return of the body of Hadar Goldin, an Israeli soldier killed in the 2014 Gaza war. Israeli authorities, meanwhile, are releasing the bodies of Palestinians in exchange for the return of hostage remains.

The 20 Israeli hostages thought to be alive in Gaza are expected to be released Monday morning local time before being transferred to the Red Cross, a government spokesperson said. Follow for live updates.
