Extracting photos off homemade DVDs may take some DIY Depending on how files were stored on a DVD, getting photos off the disc may be just drag and drop or taking a snapshot.

I insert a blank DVD, and I choose the option to manage the DVD by copying files using Windows Explorer. I noticed that the blank DVD had a "desktop.ini" file on it, so I removed that file.

Just launch DVD Player, choose File -> Open DVD Media, navigate to the Video_TS folder, and the interface for the video will appear. Click Play in that interface and the video plays.
