Turning Point USA previously announced that it will be holding its own halftime show in competition with the NFL’s featuring an unspecified collection of performers. House Speaker Mike Johnson nominated 83-year-old Lee Greenwood to replace Bad Bunny as well.
MAGA-adored country singer Lee Greenwood has admitted he wants to perform at next year’s Super Bowl following calls for him to replace Bad Bunny. The 82-year-old’s name was thrown into the ring by House Speaker Mike Johnson on Tuesday.
Like President Donald Trump, Johnson also insists that he had not heard of Bad Bunny prior to the halftime show announcement.
The Speaker of the House railed against Bad Bunny’s upcoming performance on Tuesday and claimed Greenwood, 82, would appeal to a “broader audience.”
Last year, Kendrick Lamar shined with guest SZA in New Orleans, setting the record for the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show with 133.5 million viewers. His performance surpassed the audience for Michael Jackson’s 1993 show.
