The Yankees have finally done what had become impossible over the last two-plus months: win back-to-back series.

After losing to the New York Yankees on Sunday, the St. Louis Cardinals have now lost five consecutive games and six of their last eight. On Monday, they will kick off a three-game series against the Miami Marlins in hopes of getting things back on track.

This game, and this series for that matter, had a little bit of everything in it. There were highs, there were lows, and everything in between. But the end result of was bitter disappointment. Miles Mikolas took the ball for the Cardinals and allowed three runs in the top of the fourth.

The Yankees suddenly enter an important week against AL East rivals with a chance to look ahead and not behind them in the playoff standings.

Two errors in the ninth inning Sunday led to an 8-4 loss and continued a five-game losing streak that has tested the Cardinals' shorthanded lineup, inexperienced roster.

But the Yankees tied it back up in the seventh, as Grisham walked (with some help from home plate umpire Nic Lentz, whose strike zone angered both teams all day), Judge singled and Bellinger lifted a sacrifice fly that made it 4-4.

The New York Yankees might finally be back to the kind of performance they were offering at the beginning of the season with a sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals.
