Chicagoans and suburbanites could see damaging storms pass through the area once again Monday night, bringing strong winds, lightning, and flood-causing rain.

Parts of the Chicago area were inundated by nearly six inches of rain in mere hours overnight, causing flash flooding across the region.

A flash flood watch is in effect until midnight Wednesday in Cook, DuPage and Will counties, plus some parts of northwest Indiana, the National Weather Service said.
