Lewis Hamilton qualified eighth-fastest in his Ferrari debut as McLaren’s Lando Norris claimed pole position for the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.

McLaren finished with an impressive one-two in the first Formula 1 qualifying event of the 2025 season at the Australian Grand Prix on Saturday.

All throughout preseason rivals pointed to McLaren as the team to beat heading into the 2025 Formula 1 season. Their opening runs in Q3 in Australia were scrappy, but Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri bounced back to deliver on such expectations and secured a front-row lockout for the opening round of the season.
