Aaron Judge is truly the gift that keeps on giving for the New York Yankees. The superstar outfielder came through for his team anew on Thursday night, as New York successfully avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the Bronx.
Coming off his second AL MVP award, Judge fell a triple short of the cycle and is hitting .417 with five homers and 15 RBIs in the first six games this season. He has 320 homers, 175 doubles and five triples in 999 games, and only DiMaggio (853) and Gehrig (869) reached 500 extra-base hits in fewer games among Yankees.
After subpar offensive performances in the first two games against the Arizona Diamonbacks, the Yankees responded with a gargantiuan punch in the series finale mashing three more homers as they defeated the DBacks 9-7 to salvage the three-game set.
Aaron Judge, who does not use the Yankees’ new bats, hit his fourth home run in two games. Rookie Ben Rice added his first long ball of the season. Jazz Chisholm Jr., who uses one of the now heavily discussed torpedo bats, went deep twice.

Aaron Judge started another home run barrage with a three-run, first-inning drive that made him the third-fastest Yankees player with 500 extra-base hits and finished with three hits and four RBIs to lead New York over the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-7.
Chisholm has swatted three homers already through three games — is the torpedo bat to thank? He certainly doesn’t think so.
