Eleven people in Colorado have tested positive for West Nile this year, including five who developed neurologic symptoms and three who needed hospital care. One person died from the virus.

West Nile Virus has been found in mosquito samples in Huber Heights. Huber Heights announced the news Monday, saying that the Dayton & Montgomery County’s mosquito control program detected the positive samples from mosquitos trapped in the city.

The Denver Department of Public Health and Environment announced Monday that the city's first human case of West Nile virus this season has been confirmed. Officials in Jefferson County have also confirmed their first human cases of the virus,
