Nintendo confirms Kirby Air Riders will launch on 20 November 2025 for Switch 2, with Masahiro Sakurai directing and new features including 16-player City Trial, extra riders, and copy abilities for all characters.

But as much as I want the obvious GameCube classics on my Switch 2, it’s the more underrated gems I’ve heard so much about from hardcore Nintendo fans over the years that really pique my interest. Games like Chibi-Robo!

The GameCube Nintendo Classics are exclusive to the Switch 2 and allow players to jump into a library of games from the early 2000s console. Nintendo is adding games to the collection one-by-one, so we’ve compiled a list of all of the GameCube games you can currently play on the Switch 2, as well as the games still to come.

Switch 2 gamers who come home bone tired after a long day of drudgery will collapse on the couch and want to take their mind off life’s worst entanglements with a few hours of gaming. These working stiffs necessarily have to reach for the now more expensive first-party controller first if they don’t want to get up and hit the Switch 2 power button.

With a balance between modernizations and authenticity, the GameCube controller for the Switch 2 should be your go-to for any Switch Online games that drop moving forward.

The Nintendo Switch Online GameCube collection will be growing soon with one of the console’s most unique games. On August 21, Switch 2 owners with a Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscription will be able to play Chibi-Robo!, originally released in Japan in 2005 and worldwide in 2006, and the first game in its series.

Now this could mean that GameCube games are going to come to Nintendo Switch Online post-Switch 2 release. But to momentarily play devil’s advocate, that’s not a surefire thing.
