A winter storm will sweep across the U.S., bringing as much as 3 feet of snow to some states during Thanksgiving week.

By 1941, the House of Representatives passed a joint resolution declaring Thanksgiving Day to be the last Thursday in November. The Senate amended the resolution, making the holiday the fourth Thursday in November, and Roosevelt signed it in December 1941.

In the Downtown Pittsburgh area, roads that will be closed include parts of Fort Duquesne Boulevard, Liberty Avenue, Penn Avenue, Stanwix Street, and the Boulevard of the Allies. Parking restrictions will begin at 4:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning for roads included in the race routes.
