The New Orleans Saints running back took to social media on Tuesday to weigh in on the process, writing that he'd like to see interim coach Darren Rizzi keep the job. Rizzi has interviewed once for the position, but also could be in demand around the league as a special teams coordinator if he's not retained.

When Rizzi took over after Dennis Allen got fired, Rizzi implemented some immediate changes for the Saints. One of those included making Alvin Kamara a captain, saying that he should have been one all year. Clearly, that spoke volumes.

Alvin Kamara just cast his vote for the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints. He believes Darren Rizzi has earned the opportunity to lead this team:

Not much has remained consistent for the New Orleans Saints since the end of the Drew Brees and Sean Payton era, but the dominance of Alvin Kamara has. Kamara finished this season with 228 carries for 950 yards and six touchdowns.

Rizzi has been with the Saints since 2019, starting out as the special teams coordinator, then adding the assistant head coach title in 2022. He was named interim head coach on November 4 after the team fired Dennis Allen. New Orleans went 3-5 over the team's final eight games to finish the season 5-12.

Alvin Kamara appeared to signal an endorsement for a very specific Saints head coach candidate while the winter storm of the century was underway.

Since the season ended, New Orleans has begun looking for a new head coach and has already interviewed big names such as Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn. However, star running back Alvin Kamara has made his pick for who he wants very clear.

The Saints star running back Kamara took to his X page on Tuesday to issue a public endorsement for the team’s head coach vacancy. Kamara expressed his support for Darren Rizzi, who finished out the season as New Orleans’ interim head coach.
