Smoking Device Forces American Airlines Airbus A321 To Divert To Washington
Over the weekend, an American Airlines Airbus A321-200 making a transcontinental journey from Philadelphia to Phoenix had to divert to Washington DC after an in-flight fire involving a passenger's device. The situation saw the twinjet make an unplanned touchdown after less than an hour in the air at Dulles Airport.
The flight from Philadelphia was forced to land after "the crew reported a fire in one of the passenger rows," the FAA said.
