Many notable voices spoke out against the WNBA for the player voting results, perhaps none more passionately than ESPN's legendary college basketball analyst Dick Vitale.

In the player vote, Clark was not even the highest ranked player on her team – Kelsey Mitchell placed three spots better at No. 6. Clark has seen a slight dip in her stats from last season, averaging 18.2 points, 8.9 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game on 29.5 percent efficiency from beyond the arc.

Despite dominating the fan vote as the WNBA's leading all-star vote-getter by a record-setting margin, Fever star Caitlin Clark ranked as the ninth-best guard by players. Fellow players rated Clark as the second-best guard on her own team behind Kelsey Mitchell.
