I want to give Myles Garrett the benefit of the doubt so bad. He has spent his entire career with a team that can’t escape the rebuilding phase no matter how many moves they make. Garrett forcing his hand and demanding a trade was the move that looked to get the front office on track to finally build a championship-caliber roster.

Myles Garrett is a great player. He’s a great player who has made six Pro Bowls and four NFL All-Pro teams. He’s a great player who has missed only four games in the last five years. He’s a great player who angered and frustrated many fans with his request to be traded – and generally dismissing the Browns as having any hope of winning.

Garrett is a Hall of Fame player, but it was in the team's best interest to deal him because of where it resides and his career timeline.
