India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he had held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday and looked forward to continued exchanges in the days to come.

During the phone call, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepen India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership further, apart from reviewing progress in the bilateral agenda.

Russia's Vladimir Putin wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of India's 79th Independence Day. Putin also said that Russia is looking to continue expanding its bilateral cooperation with India in multiple areas.

In his message to Zelensky, PM Modi also expressed an earnest wish for the people of Ukraine and Kyiv’s war with Russia.
