Big Lots is making a comeback with dozens of store reopenings across the U.S. See which cities got a new Big Lots on June 5.

Big Lots sold leases to more than 460 stores to Boston-based asset liquidation firm Gordon Brothers Retail Partners in late 2024, after which the leases were put up for sale, USA TODAY reported.

Over 70 Big Lots stores are reopening across the U.S. this week, including six in Tennessee. These reopenings follow the sale of Big Lots to Gordon Brothers Retail Partners and Variety Wholesalers.

Big Lots is reopening 13 stores in Tennessee by mid-May following its sale to Gordon Brothers Retail Partners and Variety Wholesalers.

In January, Big Lots announced its sale to Gordon Brothers Retail Partners, and as part of the deal, Variety Wholesalers acquired 219 Big Lots stores and two distribution centers.

Big Lots filed for bankruptcy last year and 460-plus locations have been up for sale since January. Several in NY have been acquired by discount retailers.

Thanks to a deal with Gordon Brothers and Variety Wholesalers, 200 Big Lots locations across the U.S. are likely to remain open, including many in the Pittsburgh area.
