Great news for fans of the Denver Broncos' throwback uniform: we could see it more often going forward. Last season, the Broncos wore their throwbacks twice and their alternate uniform once as the NFL allowed three total games of either a throwback or alternate design.

Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz reported Monday the NFL is altering its uniform policy to allow teams to wear their throwback and alternate jerseys more often in the future. The new policy will permit teams to wear such uniforms up to four times throughout a single season.

Each team has what the NFL likes to call a closet. Each team has a "primary" section that consists of the usual home and away uniforms. Some teams have an alternate uniform (think Color Rush.) And then some teams have their throwbacks, or what the league calls "classic" uniforms.
