Eddie Howe is determined to bring more silverware to Newcastle as he continues to celebrates the club's first domestic trophy in 70 years. Howe, his players and staff were lauded by an estimated crowd of 300,000 as they paraded the Carabao Cup on Saturday, with Tyneside coming to a standstill to mark the end of the Magpies' agonising drought.

Newcastle United return to Premier League action on Wednesday night when they face Brentford at St James’ Park.

Howe was also taken aback by the sight of a huge banner of himself being unfurled down the front of the Sandman Signature hotel. Also reflecting on the scenes on the streets of Newcastle city centre, goalkeeper Nick Pope took time out to catch up with reporters and said: "You can't put it into words - it's unbelievably special.
