Gophers women's basketball officially capped off its 2024-25 season with a Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT) championship game victory over Belmont on Wednesday afternoon. Dawn Plitzuweit finished her second season at the helm with 25 wins, which is a program-best since 2004-05.

Belmont outscored Minnesota in the fourth quarter but lost in the WBIT championship game 75-63 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The Minnesota women’s basketball team (24-11, 8-10 B1G) defeated the Florida Gators (19-18, 5-11 SEC) 66-52 on Monday evening at Hinkle Fieldhouse. With the win, the Golden Gophers will compete in the WBIT (Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament) Championship against Belmont on Wednesday at 5 p.m. CT.

She's now following the same path that her former LSU teammate Seimone Augustus took in 2024, when she was enshrined into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, the Naismith Hall of Fame and the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame.
