A Ventura County firefighter was struck by a vehicle Tuesday while deployed on the Palisades Fire. The Ventura County Fire Department said the firefighter was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. His injuries were described as minor, officials said.

The Palisades and Eaton fires tear through homes and leave at least five dead. Smaller fires also add to state of alert in Los Angeles County.

Tens of thousands have fled their homes as a brush fire in the Pacific Palisades has burned nearly 3,000 acres. Authorities have said the blaze could grow further as strong winds are expected to continue in the region.
