Will Harris will leave the Florida Gators after one season to coach at rival Miami, according to multiple reports.

UF’s secondary made significant improvement after just one season under Harris, getting eight more interceptions than in 2023.

Although his contract wasn't set to expire, Florida was reportedly working on extending Harris prior to his departure. In early February, head coach Billy Napier explained that contract extensions were being finalized. “For the most part, yes. I mean some of those deals are not done," he said on Feb. 5. "Hopefully we’ll get everybody back.”

Wilson is the latest defense hire for Napier this offseason. He added Vinnie Sunseri as a safeties coordinator and Robert Bala as a co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers head coach and it seems that Wilson will have some big shoes to fill.
