Art Deco Masterpiece: MANILA METROPOLITAN THEATER The Met, designed by Juan Arellano and opened in 1931, stands as his Art Deco masterpiece. Inspired by “On Wings of Song,” its design blends Filipino and Javanese motifs, from native flora and kapis lights to batik patterns. Inside are works by Amorsolo and sculptor Francesco Monti.
