Here’s the footage from Hallandale Beach! We got a lot of large Lionfish on this trip! A total of around 60 pounds, but 27 pounds of those were over at 1 pound apiece! That is a nice change because we are used to catching much smaller fish because we have done such a good job over and Boynton Beach, where we normally go. We are out removing invasive Lionfish from Florida’s waters! We tried to go out yesterday and get some back in Boynton Beach but we didn’t get quite as many big ones as we would like. So today we went down to Hallandale Beach Florida. So far not very many fish, but we got some decent size fish! One of them around 15 inches. Really pretty dive hunting the invasive Lionfish here in Florida! We go out to about 70 to 120 feet and we go back-and-forth covering all of the reef between those depths. We use an underwater scooter to cover the most ground and capture only invasive Lionfish. We stab them with a spear so of course it probably hurts them but it’s better than letting them eat all of the fish in the area with no predators to stop them.
