Taxi drivers are up in arms about Uber introducing fixed taxi prices in Ireland. This will mean that customers can choose to pay a fixed price before getting into a taxi regardless of what the metre price is at the end of the trip. This is blatant profiteering by Uber and only serves to undermine Taxi Driver’s ability to have a say over their livelihoods as well as the National Transport Association which should regulate all public transport, not corporations like Uber. | Ruth Coppinger
