It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news of Mike “Keegan” Cannon’s passing. As a longtime Kearny resident, he climbed the iconic Annie Bridge each March for many years to hang the Irish flag in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, a sight visible from Newark that kicked off the celebrations. Though I never had the chance to meet him, I feel lucky to have captured his last flag on the bridge. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this tough time.
