Thank you to FBI Director Wray for testifying before the House Judiciary Committee today. His testimony was critical to allowing Congress to hold the FBI accountable to the American people. As former Sheriff, I often think about the perceived politicization of our law enforcement agencies and the impact that could have on operations. Yesterday in the House Appropriations Committee, I asked Veterans Affairs Secretary Wilkie about veteran suicide prevention, transition assistance, and what he is doing to address these issues. While one veteran suicide is too many, twenty per day is heartbreaking and inexcusable. We must do better. I will continue fighting to ensure our veterans have the funding and resources they need.
