Is this too harsh for you? Am I being a “mean mom”? I usually resort to this option after I’ve asked (SEVERAL) times to clean up and put your toys away. We also have a family rule that this is a team environment and mom is not responsible for your toys or your messes. Would I do this with a one year old? No. But starting around 2ish, I started doing Toy Jail, where I would hold on to the toys and they could earn them back. Now, with my kids being 7-10, they can put them away or lose them forever
