A well-loved historic beach landmark is celebrating a milestone. The Leuty Lifeguard Station was built in 1920 — making this year its 100th anniversary. It almost didn't make it here. Back in the 1990s the station started to fall into disrepair, and it was the local community who fundraised to save it from demolition.
