The Solar System moves through space in a spiral path. While the planets orbit the Sun, the Sun itself travels around the center of the Milky Way at about 828,000 km/h, completing one orbit every 225–250 million years. As it moves, the planets follow in a helical pattern. On an even larger scale, the entire galaxy is also moving through space, drawn toward massive structures like the Great Attractor.
